Aloha classroom family!
Welcome to an exciting year at Waikoloa Elementary School! My name is Jennie Hancock, and I am so excited to teach your 1st grader! I’d love to share a little bit about myself. I graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a Bachelor’s degree in History and Grand Canyon University with a Master’s degree in Elementary Education. Before coming to Waikoloa Elementary I taught 2nd grade at Pa'auilo Elementary, 1st grade on Oahu, PLUS I spent time as a substitute teacher for all grades and as an assistant teacher in a special education classroom in Alaska.
I was born in Spain and have lived and traveled all over the world thanks to my dad's military career, but I mostly grew up in Alaska. Although I grew up in the military, I don't plan on moving again for awhile! My husband and I have a 7 year old son, and 12 and 14 year old daughters. We like to cook together, go to the beach, spend time with family, and explore. We love living in Hawaii! I also love to read, watch football (Skol, Vikings!), and travel.
I look forward to working with your family and making your child's year in first grade incredible. Please don't hesitate to contact me using the contact form on this webpage (the link is on the left, directly below the "Home" link) or on ClassDojo once I have you connected.
Mahalo!
